<File composition>
     The following files are contained in the directory PMEDV95\ENGLISH.
     LPPM1X35.DRV  Compuprint LP PM1435e and PM1035e printer driver module.
     OEMSETUP.INF  Information file used for installing printer driver.
     README.TXT    Contains explanation and points to note for printer
                   driver.


<Install Guide>
     The Compuprint LP PM1435e and PM1035e printer driver can be installed
     by either of 2 methods described below:

     (1)Plug and Play printer detection.

       (a)Windows 95 automatically detects the printer at installation time or
          during the boot process.

       (b)Plug and Play detection code will prompt the user for the appropriate
          files if they are not resident in the Windows directory, by
          displaying the "New Hardware Found" dialog box.

       (c)From the "New Hardware Found" dialog box select the option "Driver
          from disk provided by hardware manufacturer" and click "OK"
          push-button.

       (d)The "Install from disk" dialog box is displayed prompting the user to
          select the drive and directory containing the installation disk.

       (e)Insert the Printer driver installation disk into the A: drive,
          use the "Browse" button to select sub-directory PMEDV95\ENGLISH of
          drive A: and click "OK".

       (f)The "Select Device" dialog box appears displaying the model-name
          "Compuprint LP PM1435e" or "Compuprint LP PM1035e". Click "OK" to
           continue.

       (g)A dialog appears prompting the user to type the Printer name. Type
          an appropriate name or use the one supplied and click "Next>".

       (h)The next dialog prompts the user to print a test page. Select "Yes"
          or "No" and click "Finish".

       (i)Driver files are copied from the installation disk.
          N.B. The following files are not contained on the Printer
          installation disk and should be installed from the appropriate
          Windows set-up disk, if not already contained in the Windows system
          sub-directory:
           ICONLIB.DLL, UNIDRV.DLL, UNIDRV.HLP.

       (j)Once all the appropriate files have been copied and the driver is
          installed, a test page is printed. Depending on whether the test page
          was correctly printed or not select "Yes or "No".

          The Compuprint LP PM1435e or PM1035e Windows 95 printer driver
          is now installed.



     (2)Set-up from Printers folder.

       (a)Click the Start button, point to Settings, and then click Printers.

       (b)Double-click Add Printer.

       (c)The Add Printer Wizard appears. Click "Next>".

       (d)Click "Have Disk" from the next dialog and the "Install from disk"
          dialog box is displayed prompting the user to select the drive and
          directory containing the installation disk.

       (e)Insert the Printer driver installation disk into the A: drive,
          use the "Browse" button to select sub-directory PMEDV95\ENGLISH of
          drive A: and click the "OK" push-button.

       (f)A dialog box appears displaying the model-names
          "Compuprint LP PM1435e" and "Compuprint LP PM1035e".
          Click "Next>" to continue.

       (g)A list of available Ports appears. Select an appropriate Port and
          click "Next>".

       (h)A dialog appears prompting the user to type the Printer name. Type
          an appropriate name or use the one supplied and click "Next>".

       (i)The next dialog prompts the user to print a test page. Select "Yes"
          or "No" and click "Finish".

       (j)Driver files are copied from the installation disk.
          N.B. The following files are not contained on the Printer
          installation disk and should be installed from the appropriate
          Windows set-up disk, if not already contained in the Windows system
          sub-directory:
           ICONLIB.DLL, UNIDRV.DLL, UNIDRV.HLP.

       (k)When all files have been copied and the driver is installed a dialog
          appears querying the result of test page printout. Depending on
          whether the test page was printed correctly or not click "Yes" or
          "No".

          The Compuprint LP PM1435e or PM1035e Windows 95 printer driver
          is now installed.


<Points to Note>
       (1)110, 921600 Baud rates are not supported by PM1435e or PM1035e
          and should not be selected when using the serial port.

       (2)When setting Auto-feed priority, choose "No MFF" when the MFF
          (Multi-Function Feeder) is not used.
          If "Tray" is chosen then this is the paper source used when there
          is paper in one of the trays.
          If "MFF" is chosen then this is the paper source used when there is
          paper in the MFF.
          Auto-feed priority is set from Media Choice in the Papers tab.

       (3)When "Auto" is not selected as the [Paper Source],
          "No Auto Feed" should be selected for [Media Choice].
          If "No Auto Feed" is not selected in this case,
          the wrong paper source may be used.

       (4)Vector Graphics is used as the default Graphics Mode for this driver.
          If problems occur when printing graphics, please switch to Raster
          Graphics.

