The current Boot Time Loadable Driver for DPT SCSI Adapters is available.
This Driver Diskette Release includes a BTLD/installpkg installation
process for SCO Unix Release 3.2v4.2 (Open Server/Enterprise/Desktop 3.0)
and SCO Unix Release 3.2v5.0 (Open Server/Enterprise/Desktop 5.0).

The install options are seperate for each release and are identifies by
the package names "dptr4" and "dptr5", respectively.

This hardware supplement is not intended for SCO Unix Releases prior to 
Release 3.2.v4.2.

The Update to the SCO 3.2v4.2 and SCO 3.2v5.0 release of the driver adds
support for the following:

Support for Dual-Level RAID under SCO UNIX.
Support for Multi-Channel Adapters under SCO UNIX.

Support includes Storage Manager Utilities for SCO UNIX
Support for Adapter Event Broadcast and Logging.


Instructions:
Applying the driver during SCO installation.

SCO 3.2.4.2

After booting the Boot Installation diskette (N1) enter the following
line at the "Boot:" prompt.

	Boot: defbootstr disable=dpt link=dptr4

This procedure will disable the embedded driver that is released with 
3.2.4.2 and install and enable the new DPT Raid driver.  You will then
be prompted to install the BTLD diskette to copy the new drivers.


SCO 3.2.5.0

After booting the Boot Installation diskette (N1) enter the following
line at the "Boot:" prompt.

	Boot: defbootstr ahslink=dptr5

You will then be promted to install the DPT BTLD diskette.
The following message will appear:

Table "io_init" contains (at 25) another routine named "dptrinit"
Please enter
  which routine (0-38) to replace(? to list),
  'a' to add "dptrinit" at the end [default]
  'n' to do nothing,
  'q' to quit.

At this message you must enter option "25" to replace the existing 
"dptrinit" support.

If you select add, the initialization after rebooting will fail on
the hardware roster while initializing "dptrinit".


Applying the driver to a already running system:
SCO 3.2.4.2 and SCO 3.2.5.0

Login as superuser.
Make a backup copy of the current unix kernel.(Something other than .old)
Insert the Hardware Supplement in the appropriate floppy drive
and run "installpkg"
Select the appropiate floppy drive.

This will install the Hardware Supplement.
The kernel and environment must be relinked and the system restarted.


In all instances the DPT Storage Manager Utility will be installed 
in the directory "/usr/dpt".
The executable "dptmgr" requires mouse support.  If the application
can not locate your mouse a related message will appear.  In this case
run ht executable "dptmgrsc".
