#001# MSCDEX SETUP PROGRAM
#002# This setup program will copy the Microsoft MS-DOS CD-ROM Extensions
and selected CD-ROM drivers from the installation disk to your system
disk. The setup program will help determine configuration settings for
your AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS files and it can make the necessary
changes to these files for you so the Extensions will be loaded the
next time your system is rebooted. You will also have the choice of
saving the new settings in AUTOEXEC.NEW and CONFIG.NEW and leave your
original AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS files unmodified.
#003# The following CD-ROM device drivers were found:
#004# Did not find any CD-ROM device drivers to install
#005# MSCDEX.EXE not found
#006# If you are installing onto a bootable floppy disk, put
your normal boot disk in drive B: and specify drive B: as
the drive to copy files onto.
If you are installing onto your hard disk, specify drive
C: as the drive to copy files onto.
#007# The setup program has copied MSCDEX and the CD-ROM
device drivers to your system disk. If you continue,
setup will copy your CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT files
to CONFIG.NEW and AUTOEXEC.NEW and make the changes to
these copies. When the changes are complete, you will have
  the choice of:
    - Leaving CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT alone and
copying the changes yourself from the .NEW files.
      or
    - Letting setup make the changes to your CONFIG.SYS
      and AUTOEXEC.BAT for you.
#008# The setup program did not modify your
          CONFIG.SYS or AUTOEXEC.BAT files.
#009# SETUP COMPLETE
#010# Both the CD-ROM device driver and MSCDEX both require small amounts
of additional memory to run which should not cause any problems. But if
you do find after you have installed MSCDEX that some programs no longer
run because there is not enough memory, you may want to review your
CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT files to locate other entries that consume
memory such as GRAPHICS or FASTOPEN that you may not require and can
  remove.
#011# You have run the setup program but installation may not be complete
because you requested setup leave either CONFIG.SYS or AUTOEXEC.BAT
unmodified. To install MSCDEX completely, you will have to review
the changes setup would have made to these files in CONFIG.NEW or
AUTOEXEC.NEW and make the necessary changes to your system files.
#012# MSCDEX is installed. Reboot your computer now to load
    the device driver and MSCDEX.

#071# MSCDEX is presently set up to be installed on an MS-NET based server
The following question is for network administrators installing
MSCDEX on a network server. Most computer systems are not set up
as network servers so the answer for them is NO.
#072# Are you installing on a network server
#073# Version 2.10 and up of MSCDEX allows CD-ROM drives to be
shared on a network server but only on MS-NET or similarly based
  server products.
#074# Contact the manufacturer of your network software for more
information about whether your server allows sharing of CD-ROM
  drives.
#075# Is the server you want ot install to MS-NET based
#076# The default cache size uses the least amount of memory.
Increasing its size uses more memory but can improve
directory searching performance. Most computer systems
and CD-ROM's work fine with the default size. For these
computer systems the answer is NO.
#077# Do you want to cahnge the default size
#078# At a minimum, MSCDEX requires 4 sectors per CD-ROM drive.
As a rule, more sectors than this will improve directory searching
performance and can dramatically speed directory operations in
large directories but at the expense of greater memory usage.

#085# Adding the following entry to file
#086# If your AUTOEXEC.BAT file starts up a 'shell' program such
as DOSSHELL or Windows, or runs another BAT file, you will need
to edit your AUTOEXEC.BAT after setup is complete to put the
line that starts MSCDEX ahead of the line that starts your
'shell' or BAT file. Otherwise MSCDEX will not have a chance to
start the CD-ROM drives once your 'shell' or BAT file begins.
#087# AUTOEXEC.NEW now contains the contents of your AUTOEXEC.BAT file
and the setup program changes. You have the choice of leaving
the changes in AUTOEXEC.NEW without modifying your AUTOEXEC.BAT and
