Hauppauge Computer Works TV Scheduler
-------------------------------------

The Scheduler Program executes the WinTV program at user specified times.
Win/TV can be scheduled to automatically start up at any time on any day of
the week.

Similar to programming your VCR to record on a specific day at a specific
time, TV Scheduler allows you to "program" your Win/TV to start up using the
following Startup Options:

       - Set Startup Time: Set the timer to the exact time that you want
         Win/TV to start. For example, if you want Win/TV to start at
         12:30 PM, click on 1,2,3,0, and PM on the key pad. If you wish to
         change the time, click on "CLR" on the keypad and reenter a time.

       - Set Channel # : This enables you to select the start up channel.
         To choose channels, click on the left or right arrow until you reach
         the desired channel.

       - Set Day of Week: Choose the day of the week that you want Win/TV to
         start up.  Click on the left or right arrow to change the day;
         if you want Win/TV to start at the same time every day of the week,
         click the right arrow until you reach "ALL".

Other options include:

	- Mute: You have the option to start Win/TV with or without sound.
          If you want it to start without sound, click on "Mute".

	- No Title: Win/TV can run with or without a title bar; to start up
          Win/TV without title bar, click "No Title".

	- Normal: Click on "Normal" if you want Win/TV to start up in a normal
          window.

	- Maximized: If you want Win/TV to start up full screen, click on
          "Maximized".

	- Minimized: Click "Minimized" if you want Win/TV to start up as an
          icon.

When all options are set (start up time, channel, day of week, etc.), click on
"Add to List" - your scheduled program will appear on the first line of of the
grid at the bottom of the TV Scheduler window.

Double check all the options listed in the grid. If you want to change any of
your options, double click on the row that you want to change then change your
options. Once you've made your changes, click on "Modify" - your new program
will appear on the grid.

If you wish to delete a program, click once on the row you want deleted, then
click on "Remove". Your program will be deleted from the grid.

When all programs are scheduled, click on "Start Timer". TV Scheduler will
appear as an icon and Win/TV will start up as scheduled.

Note 1: Win/TV will not automatically start up if the TV Scheduler program is
not actively running - be sure TV Scheduler is running (either as a window or
an icon) if you want your saved programs to automatically start up as
scheduled.

Note 2: If you are running Win/TV when a program is scheduled, the channel
you are currently viewing in the Win/TV window will automatically change to
the channel set in the Scheduler program. All other parameters (ie: window
size, volume, title/no title) will remain the same regardless of the settings
in the scheduler program.

Note 3: If you want to exit TV Scheduler, be sure to save your programs.

Note 4: If running in a full screen DOS window or program, the timer function
will not work.

Hardware Configuration
----------------------

Note - Before making any changes to the hardware configuration window be sure to
close out the Win/TV window.

Installed DLL - Check "Installed DLL" to be sure the correct software is installed
for the Win/TV model you have. For example, if you have a Celebrity, the Installed
DLL box should read "Celebrity."

I/O Port - Make sure the I/O port setting matches up to the hardware jumpered I/O
port on your Win/TV card. If they do not match, click on the down arrow of the
combination box and choose the correct setting.

Memory Base - Memory base is only used when saving and loading images into Win/TV.

	*  Problem:  "Cant Save A Frame "

	This occurs when: The incorrect video buffer is set for the Win/TV board,
	or the system is caching or shadowing the buffer address, or the memory
	buffer used is not excluded by your memory manager resulting in a memory
	conflict in upper memory.

	Solution: Start Win/TV, click on Configure, then click on Board. Then
	change the memory address to one suitable for your system. Exit WinTV.
	Exit Windows.

	Note 1: When using Win/TV with some VESA Local Bus cards, the buffer
	address must be set to D000 or above, with this region excluded in
	EMM386.SYS or QEMM386.SYS. Otherwise saving and loading images may not
	be possible. Example: (in config.sys - Always exclude a 32k page frame
	address.)

	If using  B800
	Device = EMM386.EXE X=B800-BFFF

	If using  D000
	Device=EMM386.EXE  X=D000-D7FF

	If using  D800
	Device=EMM386.EXE  X=D800-DFFF

	If using  E000
	Device=EMM386.EXE  X=E000-E7FF

	If using  E800
	Device=EMM386.EXE  X=E800-EFFF

	Reboot machine.....

	Note 2: Problems may occur while capturing images if your PC tries to
	shadow the Win/TV buffer. This occurs often in Pentium systems. If your
	PC does this, to properly save an image the Memory Base address must be
	uncached or the shadow disabled. This can be done in your PC's BIOS
	advanced setup program. For Example on Gateway2000 Pentium computers with
	the Phoenix Bios do the following (hopefully your computer system has a
	similar bios configuration):

	1) Go into the setup (hit f1 during boot or post).
	2) Go to menu that says - Disable shadow memory base.
           Disable shadow memory size.
	3) Set base to selected buffer i.e. D000.
	4) Set size to 32k.
	5) reboot machine

	How to setup a non cacheable block on the Intel Pentium 90 MB with the
	AMI Bios.

	1) Enter the setup program by hitiing F1 on the post.
	2) Use the right arrow key and highlight the ADVANCE menu item - press enter.
	3) Use the down arrow key and highlight PLUG and PLAY - press enter.
	4) Use the down arrow key and highlight ISA SHARED MEMORY SIZE - press enter.
	5) Use the down arrow key and select 32k - press enter.
	6) Use arrow down key and select ISA SHARED MEMORY BASE ADDRESS - press enter.
	7) Select the desired memory range example D0000h - press enter.
	8) Press f10 ( to save and exit) - press enter.

IRQ Level - IRQ Level is only important for Video for Windows clip capture.
Be sure the IRQ matches the IRQ level in the software. If they do not match,
click on the down arrow in the combination box and choose the correct setting.

Tuner Type - Choose the correct tuner type by clicking on the down arrow in the
combination box.

Interleave - The interleave setting corresponds to the amount of DRAMs on the
Win/TV board. For example, if there are three DRAMs on your Win/TV, change the
setting to 3 by clicking on the right arrow.

The Options box allows you to change startup settings.
Please note: The settings in the Options box change immediately and are
automatically saved.

Click OK to save the settings.

Click Cancel to close the Hardware Configuration window and revert all settings
(except the options settings) back to the original.

Test board - searches Win/TV for proper I/O addresses and lists all unmasked IRQs.
