
          Installation Instructions for Windows Modem in Windows 95.
        ===============================================================

1. Copy the following BANZAI modem files provided by Installation Disk
   into a known directory or on a floppy disk:

                 attcom.vxd             attcom.inf
                 attmodem.vxd           attmodem.inf
                 attvcd.vxd             attwave.inf
                 attwave.drv

2. In Control Panel -> Add New Hardware click 'Next' to begin installing,
   >Click 'No' when asked whether you want Windows to search for your
    new hardware.
   >Scroll to 'Ports' and click 'Next' again.  
    Now Windows will build drive information data base and show the
    'Maunfacturers' and "Models' selections.
   >Click 'Have Disk', then specify the PATH to the files listed in
    Step 1 above and click 'OK'.
   >Now the Model will display 'Modem Port'.
   >Click Next again.

3. Windows now assigns an I/O range and IRQ for the hardware. It may not
   match the board's hardware setting. Never mind, Click 'Next' to go on.
   The system now copies all the *.vxd files into the \windows\system
   directory. Click 'Finish'.

4. If the I/O and IRQ chosen by the Windows installer didn't matches the
   hardware setting, click 'No' and do step 5. Otherwise, click 'Yes' now
   to shut down the computer. Power off the PC then do step 6.

5. In Control Panel -> System -> Device Manager select 'Ports',
   >Select the COM port just installed(It might be 'COM 3' if
    using default setting)
   >Click 'Properties'.
   >Select 'Resources'.
   >Click either "Input/Output Range" or "Interrupt Request," and then
    'Change Setting...'  until it matching the hardware setting.  Note
    carefully any resource conflicts in the lower box, and choose a
    different setting.  Click 'OK' to make your selections stick, then
    finally select  Start -> Shutdown... -> press 'Yes' button and power
    off the PC.

6. After rebooting, go to Control Panel ->Modems.
   >Click the box for "Don't run the Hardware Installation Wizard,"
    and then click 'Next'.
   >Windows will display the Manufactures and Models for selection.
   >Click 'Have Disk', then specify the PATH to the files listed in
    Step 1 above and click 'OK'.
   >Now Windows might show 2 Models, please choose "AT&T Win Modem"
    and click 'Next', then select the COM port you just installed
    from the box and click 'Next'.

7. The Windows now copies the attwave.drv into \windows\system directory.
   Since AT&T Win Modem support Voiceview functions, the installer is
   asking you to install some files from Win95 CD/disk, so insert the
   Win95 CD/disk.

8. Then specify the PATH to the files listed in Step 1 above, then click
   'OK'. Click 'Finish'. Finally you will see "AT&T Win Modem" in the
   box and click 'OK'.

9. No reboot is needed, just use the Modem.

                      Windows Modem  Q & A  in Windows 95
                  ===========================================

Q: Which Com Port should I use?

A: It is recommended to use the default hardware setting(COM 3, IRQ7).

Q: Why I can't use another modem in Windows 95 after I removed the
   Windows Modem?

A: If you want to install another modem into your computer, please do the
   following steps:
   1) Go to Control Panel  -> System  ->  Device manager  -> then remove 'Port'
      and 'Modem'.
   2) Go to DOS mode, remove attcom.vxd; attvcd.vxd; attmodem.vxd; attwave.drv
      four files under \windows\system or any directory that you use for
      Windows 95.
   3) Remove any oem*.inf files under \windows\inf or any directory that you
      use for Windows 95.
