		   LOTUS 1-2-3 v. 3.0 DRIVER FOR AVGA2

This diskette contains the files necessary to install and run the high
resolution 1-2-3 (version 3.0) display driver for the AVGA2 board.

It is assumed that 1-2-3 v 3.0 is already installed on your hard disk,
using the standard Lotus installation utility.	To install this driver,
make the directory containing 1-2-3 v 3.0 the current directory. For
example, if 1-2-3 is in the directory named 123R3, then use the
following command:

        CD \123R3

One of the files on this diskette is named INSTALL.DDF. This is a text
file used by the 1-2-3 installation utility containing information on
each of the drivers and modes of operation. The file supplied on this
diskette is a duplicate of the one provided on the 1-2-3 distribution
diskettes, with the addition of the information on the AVGA2 modes.
If you have been using a driver supplied with another graphics adapter,
you may want to first make a copy of the INSTALL.DDF file currently in
the 1-2-3 directory (or rename it to something else), since the next
step will overwrite this file.

Assuming you are ready to continue, insert this diskette into a floppy
drive (drive A: is assumed to be the source drive and drive C: the
designation drive in the following discussion) and copy all files on
this diskette into the 1-2-3 directory by typing:

	COPY A:\LOTUS30\*.* C:\123R3

Now run the Lotus installation utility by typing:

        INSTALL

At the first set of questions, choose "Change selected equipment" from
the list. (Note: if you are currently using another driver supplied
with a graphics board, it may be necessary to choose "First-time
installation," since the INSTALL.DDF file that is provided here is
probably not valid for your existing installation. In that case,
simply follow the procedure outlined in the 1-2-3 manual.) Next, you
may choose either "Modify Current DCF" or "Choose another DCF to
Modify," according to your preference. In either case, the subsequent
procedure is the same.	Next, choose "Change Video Display." This
will present a list of choices of all display types that are provided
standard with the 1-2-3 distribution diskettes, with the additional
choice "AVGA2 100 Column Display" (800x600 resolution) and "AVGA2 128
Column Display" (1024x768 resolution). The 100 Column Display supports
the following:

	100x31 color
	100x42 color
	100x75 color

and the 128 Column Display supports the following:

	128x40 color
	128x54 color
	128x96 color

This is the selection that makes use of the 800x600 and 1024x76 color
graphics modes of the AVGA2 board. This selection will present choices
for different spreadsheet screen resolutions. Follow the Lotus
instructions for selecting (or unselecting previous choices). After
your selections are made, choose the "Save Changes" option from the
menu that appears. Note that, in selecting an AVGA2 high-resolution
mode, a message may appear asking for the drive letter of the floppy
disk drive. This means that the installation program needs the font
disk from the 1-2-3 distribution diskettes, in order to load the
correct font for the selected mode. Before responding with the drive
letter, put the 1-2-3 font disk in the floppy drive.

This completes the installation of the driver.	Run 1-2-3 in the normal
way, and the AVGA2 driver will be used automatically.
