This README file includes instructions on how to run the decompression
program, support instructions for FRAMEWORK II and III and describes
and/or outlines support for the AVGA2 Drivers/Utilities Diskette. The
text file AVGAREAD.TXT is equivalent to an AVGA2 User's Guide giving
complete information on the AVGA2 Card. Additionally, the FCC.DOC and
AVGAINST.DOC files, which are shown in the attached FCC and Installation
sheets (in Microsoft Word for Windows format), can also be found in the
root directory of the AVGA2 Drivers/Utilities disk. The same files, in
ASCII format (with a .TXT extension) can be read using the AVGAUTIL.EXE
program. Use the AVGAUTIL.EXE program to read all the README and .TXT
files in the AVGA2 Drivers/Utilities Diskette. Note: It is important
to keep the AVGA2UTIL.EXE in the same directory structure as the AVGA2
Drivers/Utilities Diskette when installing the drivers to your hard
disk to be able to view the README files correctly. See the examples
used in running the INSTALL.BAT file below.

   I. DECOMPRESSION PROGRAM

The INSTALL.BAT file and LZHUF.EXE program decompresses the AVGA2
disk contents to a designated disk drive. A minimum of 2.0 mbytes of
storage space is required to decompress the complete AVGA2 Drivers/
Utilities Diskette files. Individual directories can be created, the
driver and utility files copied, and then decompressed using the
parameters below. The drivers/files from the AVGA2 Drivers/Utilities
Diskette need to be decompressed prior to copying files using the
AVGAUTIL.EXE program.

Running INSTALL.BAT:

Typing INSTALL [ENTER] displays the following instructions:

Usage: install dst drv (drv must be in lower case)
	  example: install c:\avga2 all
dst = full pathname of destination directory
drv = 'all' expand the whole drivers/utilities disk
		   'root' expand the root directory
		   'wp' expand the WORDPERFECT directory
		   'lotus2x' expand the LOTUS2X directory
		   'lotus30' expand the LOTUS30 directory
		   'wordstar' expand the WORDSTAR directory
		   'word50' expand the WORD50 directory
		   'utility' expand the UTILITY directory
		   'misc' expand the MISC directory
		   'gemvp' expand the GEMVP directory
		   'pcad' expand the PCAD directory
		   'windows' expand the WINDOWS directory
		   'os2' expand the OS2 directory
		   'acad386' expand the ACAD386 directory
		   'acaddld' expand the ACADDLD directory

Typing the following example, assuming the source drive is drive A:
and the destination (dst) drive is drive C:, typing the following,

	install c:\avga2 all

will copy and decompress all contents of the AVGA2 Drivers/Utilities
Diskette from drive A: to the directory \AVGA2 in C: of your hard disk.
The INSTALL.BAT file will expand all files except for the following
from the root directory of drive A: README, AVGAREAD.TXT, AVGAINST.TXT,
FCC.TXT FCC.DOC, AVGAINST.DOC and AVGAUTIL.EXE.

You can also choose only one directory as in the following example:

	install c:\avga2 word50

This command will copy and expand the WORD50 contents of the AVGA2
Drivers/Utilities Diskette to the directory \AVGA2\WORD50 in C: of
your hard disk.

ACU.EXE - Supports a variety of monitor timing settings for
the AVGA2 VGA and extended VGA modes. This file
is used if an EEPROM component is not available
in the AVGA2 Card. Since the AVGA2 Card's default
setting is in interlaced mode, you will need to run
the ACU.EXE program if you want to change the
		     card's setting to a non-interlaced mode. Please
see the AVGAREAD.TXT file for a more detailed
		     description of the ACU.EXE program.
AVGA2CFG.COM - A file the ACU.EXE writes to after changes are
are made to ACU.EXE. This file should be added
to your AUTOEXEC.BAT file to be loaded at system
reset. Please see the AVGAREAD.TXT file for a
		     more detailed description of AVGA2CFG.COM.

and extended VGA modes of the AVGA2.
AVGAUTIL.EXE - Allows user to read the README and *.TXT files
found in the AVGA2 Drivers/Utilities Diskette.
This utility also allows copying some of the
		     drivers/files to their respective directories.
The copy option can only be used after the
		     AVGA2 Drivers/Utilities diskette files are
		     decompressed. See INSTALL.BAT instructions
		     above.

XII. WINDOWS 3.0 (see README file in WINDOWS directory)

XIII. AUTOCAD Rel. 10c2, 10c7, 10c10 and 11c2 (see README files in
      either ACAD386 or ACADDLD directories)

XIV. MS OS/2 ver. 1.21 (see README files in OS2 directory)

XV. Other support for the AVGA2 Card:

      1. ORCAD at 800x600 by selecting the Paradise 800x600 driver
from the ORCAD screen options and the VESA 800x600x16
(VESA800.DRV) driver by typing this in as an option from the
      ORCAD screen options.

      2. COLORIX from RIX Softworks at 800x600, 16 color graphics
mode by creating a file with a text editor in the COLORIX
directory called RIXVIDEO.DSC that contains the following
      line:

		 G = 58

This will enable any RIX paint program to use the AVGA2 board
at 800x600 resolution. Next, run VGASETUP.EXE, select
      "Display Resolution" and select "G -- 800x600 16" for
resolution, and "Save Configuration File". Make sure that
the "Clear Scratch At Start" is set to "Yes" from the
"Initial Conditions" option in the VGASETUP program. If this
is set to "No", every time you change the resolution of the
display, garbage will be displayed in the Colorix screen.

      3. GENERIC CADD 5.0 using both Super VESA and Simple VESA
supported modes. Run the VESALIST program after you have
installed GENERIC CADD 5.0 and this will display which VESA
modes the AVGA2 card supports. You need to then run the
CONFIG program to install these modes. Please see your GENERIC
CADD 5.0 User's Guide for more details.
