VideoLogic Patch release 106

Monitor selection problems with Windows 95
------------------------------------------

_________________________________________________________________________________

The problem:

With version 2.2 of the GrafixStar 300/500/700 drivers selecting a
monitor that is in the MONITOR.INF files as a single frequency monitor
causes the driver to state that there is a problem with the display
settings every time Windows 95 is started.

To correct this problem, update the Mini Virtual Display Device driver
(VXD file).

How to install:

The old version of the driver file VLGXX00A.VXD that you are currently using will
reside within your Windows 95 'SYSTEM' subdirectory.

The file is different for each GrafixStar card -

	GrafixStar 300 - vlgx300a.VXD
	GrafixStar 500 - vlgx500a.VXD
	GrafixStar 700 - vlgx700a.VXD

Simply, copy over the relevant file with the update.
For example, if you have a GrafixStar 700 and your Windows directory is on
the root of Drive C, open a DOS Box and type :

	 copy a:\vlgx700a.VXD c:\Windows\system\vlgx700a.VXD

where 'a:\vlgx700a.VXD' is where the patch file is located
and 'c:\Windows\system\vlgx700a.VXD' is the location of your
	        Windows 95 System directory.

Finally, restart Windows 95.
