			       FILES
			      -------

Your distribution diskette contains the following files:

     README.TXT - This file.
     AMS.AIF - AMS Installation file.
     FIXINSTA.BAT - Installation batch file.
M30EXTRA.TMP - A file copied into the MICFILES directory as
M30EXTRA.CNF (or appended to an existing
M30EXTRA.CNF). This causes MIC to run the fix each
                       time MIC is loaded.
NOMERGE.EXE - The program which fixes the frozen video problem.

			     INSTALLATION
			     ------------

Install the software using the standard AMS installation procedure :-

	- Insert the distribution diskette in a floppy drive.
	- from the AMS Main Menu, select the "Install an AMS Application"
          option.
	- Specify the source drive as the floppy drive containing the
diskette. Specify the destination as the drive on which the MIC
          system is installed.

		          PROBLEM ADDRESSED
                          -----------------

A problem has been identified related to the DFA-4000 (the Digital
Feature Adapter on the DVA-4000), which occasionally causes a corrupt or
blank video image to be constantly displayed instead of the video from
the live video source. Once the problem has occurred, it cannot be
corrected by unloading and reloading MIC. It can only be corrected by
powering down the computer, or running the NOMERGE.EXE program provided
    in this patch release.

Please note that this problem is very intermittent, and only occurs on
    certain DVA-4000s.

				USAGE
				-----

NOMERGE.EXE is a stand-alone program, which should be run as MIC is
loaded to avoid the Frozen Video problem already identified.

The installation procedure provided, copies the program into the MICFILES
directory, and ensures that the M30EXTRA.CNF file includes a line which
forces the program to be run each time MIC is loaded.

The patch is therefore transparent to the user once installed.
