   1. This utility must be used with the VideoLogic DVA-4000 Digital
Video Adapter and MIC System I.

   2. Installation procedure.

       - This patch software is installed from within AMS in the usual way
from the "Install an AMS Application" option on the main menu.
This procedure copies the video set-up into the MICFILES directory
         on the specified destination disk.

       - The destination disk supplied must be the disk on which MIC was
         originally installed.

   3. This auto-setup facility is provided specifically for use by
FutureMedia, and has been tailored to provide optimum video set-up
on the Machine Capability Studies course in the PAL standard with
RGB video (DVA-AVS.RGB) and composite (CVBS) video (DVA-AVS.CMP). When
installed from AMS, the files which provide this optimisation are
copied into the \MICFILES directory on the hard disk, and RGB
optimised set-up is provided by default. To optimise for composite
video, the file DVA-AVS.CMP must be copied to DVA-AVS.DAT. To
subsequently go back to RGB optimisation, the file DVA-AVS.RGB should
be copied to DVA-AVS.DAT. The optimisation will take place when MIC
       is next loaded.

   4. As the MIC System I v4.0 User Guide states on page 27, incidental
lighting on-site can have a marked effect on brightness and contrast,
so this auto-setup should be used mainly as a guideline for field
support engineers. They should also run Audio/Video Setup from the
Reserved List in the AMS menu to ensure that the settings are
       suitable for each individual installation.

   5. This facility is only suitable for use with DVA-4000 cards which have
an 8-bit palette. If after installing this patch, the video and
graphics appear very dim, then the DVA being used must be an early
board with a 6-bit palette. In this case the dimness must be corrected
by unloading MIC, deleting the file DVA-AVS.DAT in the \MICFILES
directory, and then loading MIC again. This will cause Audio/Video
       Setup to be run automatically.
