Known problems in this release
______________________________

In Aldus Persuasion 2.1, large bitmaps may not be correctly
displayed in the Slide Sorter. This is often seen when the
Rapier 8MByte processor memory module is fitted. Either
change to Black and White or re-size the slides so that they
are redrawn.

Both Microsoft PowerPoint 3.0 and Aldus Persuasion 2.1 cannot
display large bitmaps in 400% view. Use 200% or Fit in
Window.

Microsoft Video For Windows 1.0 breaks from the Windows
driver and writes direct to VGA hardware when Configured to
Full Screen in the Device menu. This can cause Rapier (and
other graphics cards) to crash the PC.

Adobe Illustrator 4.0 will not run with this Rapier bitmap
caching driver. Change to your floppy drive and then run the
batch file ADOBEFIX.BAT. Then run the Windows SETUP program
from DOS and choose "Other..." from the Display list. Select
one of the "Rapier no BMC" options. This will install a
driver which has NO bitmap caching. It is easy to change
between the normal Rapier driver and this special version
that has no bitmap caching, using the SETUP program.

Lotus Notes 2.1 also requires the Windows driver with NO
bitmap caching.

Image North Technologies ImageQ 2.0 requires a line to be
added to the [Rapier] section of the WIN.INI file in order to
run with Rapier. This line is:

		ImageQ=ON

There will be problems with some bitmaps in Aldus Persuasion
2.1 Slide Sorter when this switch is ON. If ImageQ still has
problems then use the driver with NO bitmap caching, as
described above for Illustrator.

Adobe PhotoShop 2.5 Brush Options also requires the ImageQ=ON
line.

The driver is optimised for Corel Systems CorelDraw! 3.0 and
4.0, but the WinTach benchmark runs slightly slower. To
speed up benchmarks, (but slow CorelDraw! by a factor of 6)
add this line to [Rapier] section in the WIN.INI file:

		FastPolygons=ON

Setting this line to =OFF will return to fast CorelDraw!.

The DIAGS test "Processor memory" can fail in some PCs at
random. These tests are for VideoLogic purposes only.

When starting Windows, the Rapier 24 logo fades in then out.
If you want to remove this feature, then edit WIN.INI in the
Windows directory.
Find the [Rapier] section and delete the line:

		Logo=rapier.bmp

You cannot substitute another DIB or BMP file in place of
this file.
